Sony Vaio G laptop goes SSD

Published on 04/10/2007

Sony decided to ditch the traditional hard drive in favor of the power saving and more stable solid state disk in its latest Vaio Type G laptop. The Vaio Type G weighs a mere 859g and offers up to 32GB of storage space, an amount that might not be enough for a power user but anything larger than that will probably run the price to exorbitant levels. Features include a 12.1" (1,024 x 768 resolution) XGA display and a battery life of 12.5 hours while running on Windows Vista Business. The cheapest SSD-endowed Type G retails for $1,930 after conversion.
