Brica ViewArt 1000 a jack-of-all-trades

Brica ViewArt 1000 a jack-of-all-trades

The Brica ViewArt 1000, in theory, comes with everything but the kitchen sink. Why do we say that? The manufacturers managed to cram in a digital still camera, a camcorder, MP3 playback, an integrated FM radio, a voice recorder, an e-book viewer, a webcam, and a DVR into a device which is small enough to fit onto the palm of your hand comfortably. This pocket-sized device let's you view recorded video clips on its 2.5" LCD display, and while its 512MB internal memory does not amount to much, there is an SD memory card slot for expansion options. $265 is relatively good value for the amount of features crammed inside.

I have found the webcam does not work properly on XP. During installation Windows warns the software has 'not passed windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP'. The manual advises on p29 to over-ride this warning and install anyway, but the webcam does not work on e.g. Skype. This is a shame as I really want to use it reliably with Skype.

Are there updated drivers which are properly compatible with XP?

Thanks
