Century Sutra 1688 loves SNES games
Posted on May 7, 07 07:49 PM PDT

Talk about a really sensational name for a cellphone. The Century Sutra 1688 handset from China is a regular cellphone with the added caveat of an SNES emulator programmed inside. Regular phone features include a 1.3 megapixel camera behind and a VGA camera in front, a microSD memory card slot, and dual SIM carriages. While two cameras normally mean a 3G-capable handset, the Sutra 1688 is not one. Each $125 purchase comes with a game pad attachment and a CD containing more than 1,500 ROMs which are illegal unless you already own the original. SNES emulated games on a cellphone is definitely a step up from 8-bit games, but the legality of such a product is highly suspect. Better stick to your DS for portable gaming goodness.
