HP Pavilion HDX gaming notebook
Posted on May 6, 07 08:58 PM PDT

HP enters the gaming notebook fray by releasing the HP Pavilion HDX that boasts high performance gaming parts that augurs well for gamers and entertainment seekers alike. The specifications of the HDX resemble that of a desktop more than a notebook, featuring a hefty 20" display packed into what feels like a ton to carry around (it's actually 12 pounds heavy). Each HDX comes with a full-featured Windows Media Center remote dock to the left of the keyboard, while touch sensitive media keys line up at the top. The HDX will be powered by Intel's line of Core 2 Duo processors while a high end video card keeps the framerate going when the action gets heavy. Other features include an HD DVD option with HDMI output and a webcam. No word on pricing or availability details.

With a monitor that big, I'd prefer the keyboard to be undocked like the Dell XPS 2010

I don't want the remote dock - I want a full-size keyboard. Argh.
