NHK of Japan asks - 1080p who?

If you think that HD broadcast programmes look spiffy, think again. NHK from Japan recently demonstrated their Super Hi-Vision (SHV) system that boasts a superior 4,320 horizontal and 7,680 vertical lines, making your full HD movies look like standard definition. This means a single SHV image is equal to 16 tiled HDTV displays. Don't fret though - SHV systems won't be available as a working broadcast standard just yet, not at least within the next 5 years anyway. Anything beyond that is hard to tell, especially when NHK already developed High Definition back in 1969.
