Paper shredder results reversible

Published on 05/13/2007

To the average human, reversing the effects of a paper shredder is nigh impossible, let alone reconstructing the information shredded. Researchers in Germany are optimistic as they have successfully developed a software program which is capable of undoing the effects of paper shredding. The pieces of torn documents are scanned on both sides, where the capture digital images are then analyzed by a cluster of 16 computers for 25 features, ranging from color, shape, texture, handwriting, and typeface. Looks like offices had better purchase furnaces in lieu of shredders from now on. Fine ash, now that's permanently irreversible.
