Sake powered car a possibility

Sake, the national drink of Japan, could potentially be used as fuel in vehicles in the near future if the pilot project actually takes off. At this moment, the town of Shinanomachi has produced a cheap ethanol brew from rice that could see cars in Japan run on biofuels in the not-so-distant future. This is in line with the move to create self-sustainable local fuels, weaning the nation off their dependence on gasoline. Hopefully positive strides will be made in due time sooner rather than later, as the world is already creaking and groaning under the weight of pollution at this moment.
