Voice-recognition remote control
If the remote control is at the epicenter of your universe, you probably fall under the sub-species category of "Couch Potato". Why not exercise your vocal chords (that way you can tell your physician you perform daily exercise) with this voice-recognition remote control? It is capable of operating a wide range of products such as TVs, VCRs (are those even in existence today), DVRs, DVDs, cable, and satellite thanks to an extensive device code library that can be updated to accomodate new devices. Powered by a quartet of AAA batteries, the voice-recognition remote control retails for $49.95. I don't know about you, I think pressing a flurry of buttons sure beats speaking out commands although the latter is much cooler.

Hope it has a jack to bring in the 6VDC from a wall wart in lieu of batteries. This would ensure the remote was always powered and tethered...keeping it from sliding into the couch where sound may not penetrate well. I wonder how well it will ignore sound emanating from the TV or other ambient voices.
