Zonbu the extreme budget PC

If you're looking out for a cheap computer, they don't come any cheaper than the Zonbu. Due this summer, the Zonbu measures roughly the size of a paperback book comes with 4GB of flash memory on board, and the ability to back up your data online automatically. The $99 price tag is not all there is to it to the Zonbu though, as you will need to fork out $12.95 monthly to store its data on Zonbu servers, letting you compute from virtually anywhere in the world with a decent Internet connection. If you just want to bring home this PC as a standalone, the Zonbu will sear a $250 hole in your pocket. Take note that all the other peripherals are not included, so do set aside extra budget for that. The Zonbu comes with pre-loaded applications like Firefox, OpenOffice, a video player, Skype, email and IM software. I think I'd much rather fork out $500 and get an entry level PC complete with peripherals instead - the open source software, I can download myself.

That comment is often made about green computers. Look, it's not about how you could get a "beter" or "comparable" computer for just as much or slightly more than the Zonbu. It's about the energy efficiency. Love Mother Earth or she will kill us all. Besides, the energy efficiency saves you $10 a month. Figure that into your decision.
GO GREEN!
Peace
