While most of us often shed a tear (or two) when we crack our iPod screen, other more creative people see an opportunity to turn the situation around by transforming the fractured iPod into a miniscule laptop. Owen McGarry is one such person, cutting his iPod in half while maintaining the screen, battery, and audio portions intact. That portion is flipped up at a 45-degree angle just like how most laptops are when open. Amazingly, Owen runs a fully functional Linux operating system on that tiny piece of hardware, although it is pretty mind boggling to figure out just how Owen navigate's through the user interface at such a small resolution. Owen has plans to tack on navigation buttons and a miniscule desk to build the iTop into in the future.
