Fujitsu Lifebook U1010 Korean launch

The Fujitsu Lifebook U1010 was recently launched in Korea, adding yet another UMPC to the market there. This diminutive-sized notebook measures a mere 5.6" (screen size) and comes in a thickness of just 26.5mm. It is powered by the Intel Ultra Mobile Platform 2007 and comes equipped with an integrated keyboard light (presumably to type in the dark), a fingerprint recognition sensor, and the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). The screen is a touch sensitive display, so you can now doodle electronically during those long and boring corporate meetings. The Fujitsu U1010 will be available for approximately $1,390. I personally don't find UMPCs practical as they feel as if they're neither here nor there during use, but different strokes for different folks I guess.

While the U1010 is a great machine, stay away from Ozdirect.com. They will tell you it is in stock, take your money, and then tell you its on backorder for several months. If you then ask for a refund, they won’t give it to you, and you will have to seek legal action like I did.
