Gesture recognition for phones
The Nintendo Wii has truly been an unprecedented success by any way you look at it, and NTT DoCoMo thinks so by working on a couple of new handsets that will incorporate gesture recognition technology. The phones will be part of the FOMA 904i line and feature motion sensing routines from GestureTek. The cellphone will be able to recognize gestures in three forms - shake, rock, and roll. Do you think the Wii experience will be faithfully translated onto a handset, or will it be another novelty? I personally don't think this idea will really take off because you can't see what's going on a cellphone display clearly when you are busy shaking it. What's your take on this?

Publisher's note: to be fair, Samsung came up with the phone gesture recognition well before the Wii unveiling, they just didn't do something very compelling with it.
