Schwinn launches new electric bikes
Jun 24, 07 08:22 PM PDT

Cycling is a great form of non-impact exercise, but tackling high-gradient slopes can be quite the daunting task. Schwinn has launched a trio of human-electric hybrid bikes in the form of the Campus, World GSE, and Continental models, giving you an electrical boost whenever your muscles feel that they cannot go any further. They ship with 21- and 24-speed transmissions for your legs, a 24V 400W electric hub motor in the front wheel that can propel the bike up to 18 mph, and carry a removable li-ion battery that gives up to 60 miles per charge. Prices range from $1,499 to $1,999 though, and could cause some to resort to those stationary exercise bikes instead.
