Asus PG221 hunchbacked with a purpose
Posted on Jul 2, 07 10:51 PM PDT

Asus has a brand new LCD monitor in the form of the PG221, and there is a very good reason behind it's unconventional design. The cylindrical hump located on the rear is actually a 15-watt subwoofer, complementing the 22" display with great sounding stereo. With SRS TruSurround XT technology, the LCD display can also handle up to 6.1 channel sound virtually. Resolution of the Asus PG221 goes up to 1,680 x 1,050 pixels and the 2ms response time won't hurt either. Additional features include a 1.3 megapixel camera along with a whole host of connectivity options including DVI and component. Pricing and availability details are currently unknown. This would look good in any modern home setting, but will look out of place in traditional homes.
