BigBelly compacts trash with solar power

Published on 07/18/2007

BigBelly has enlisted the help of all natural and clean solar power to move its innards when it comes to compacting trash. On the outside, the BigBelly resembles an ordinary looking trash can, but it is capable of holding anywhere between 4 to 6 times as much trash as standard units. Not only that, the BigBelly is less prone to overflows which results in less food for birds to pick on, alternatively leading to less bird droppings (car owners shout "Huzzah!"). The BigBelly solar-powered trash compactor has been around for some time now, and can be installed virtually anywhere but will see greatest benefits in public places. A single unit retails for $4,000 but it sure is more cost-effective and environmentally friendly when compared to a standard system, paying for itself over its lifetime. Does you city already has this installed?
