BlackBerry Curve 8310 released

Published on 07/31/2007

Research in Motion has sneaked in the BlackBerry Curve 8310 without much fanfare, and yet this handset offers a rather significant upgrade to the original Curve. The 8310 comes with a live GPS receiver that was missing in the standard 8300 edition, allowing users to plot driving routes by downloading map data from a central server. All the other features of the original Curve were carried over, including the 2 megapixel camera, a multi-format audio and video jukebox software, and a microSD memory card slot. The BlackBerry Curve 8310 will retail for 100 Euros from Vodafone Germany, only if you sign up with the Business and Home Combo 240 plan. There is no word of a North American release, but we can always keep our eyes peeled. If you already have a GPS navigation device, would you pick up a handset that does the same thing as well?
