Bluetooth Heart Monitor

Getting a heart attack is something many people fear, and what's worse is if you experience one when you're all alone. This Bluetooth Heart Monitor could potentially help save lives, offering the ability to send an alert along with an ECG readout via a text message to the relevant health authorities. The prototype currently records an ECG periodically and sends the information to the patient's cellphone via radio frequency. The modified handset comes with an analyzer circuit that checks out the ECG signals for any sign of imminent cardiac failure. Future revisions will include the incorporation of GPS so that hospitals will be able to reach the patient as soon as possible. The most important lesson to learn from all this? Make sure your handset has enough juice (and credit for those on pre-paid plans). Oh yeah, a healthy diet, plenty of exercise, and tons of laughter will go a long way in preventing heart attacks as well.
