Sharp has taken an alternative route when it decided to build a huge solar power system that floats on water, where a buoyant resin-made platform holds all the solar panels. This system is capable of generating up to 200 kilowatts of electricity - more than enough juice to power up to 50 houses. Of course, such a system isn't cheap with a price tag of $1,815,000, but when you think about the long term benefits, it pretty much makes sense to take this clean energy route while leaving the earth habitable for our descendants. Since the earth is has up to 70% of water as its surface, why not implement more of such solar power systems? It will surely take a concerted efforts from countries all over the world for the greater good of mankind.
