The iPod nano is a no-frills digital audio player, so it makes perfect sense for Apple to come up with a dumbed down version of the iPhone that includes basic nano functions. This is a possibility considering how Apple filed a patent recently, indicating a "touchpad with symbols-based mode". The patent describes a simple touchpad that uses different symbols to represent different modes which can be selected to access various modes. Surely the iPhone nano does not video, and will probably appeal to those who are looking for a simple MP3 player embedded into a cellphone. Then again, there're already tons of handsets out there that does MP3s pretty well, especially Sony Ericsson's Walkman range. Would you get the iPhone nano if it was ever realized?
