JVC launches HD Everio GZ-HD3
JVC has just launched its HD Everio GZ-HD3 hard drive-based HD camcorder that is equally comfortable talking to both Macs and PCs. It features a trio of CCDs, recording video at 1,440 x 1,080 directly into the 60GB hard drive. You can store anywhere between 5 to 7 hours worth of video depending on the recording mode. Not only that, you get HDMI and component video output that can be downconverted if you own a standard definition TV, a 2.8" LCD display, and microphone input. Data transfer is achieved via USB 2.0 or FireWire, whichever tickles your fancy. An SD memory card slot is available to store additional stills and video (I would've preferred to see an SDHC instead though). The Everio GZ-HD3 will hit the streets this September for approximately $1,300. How many of you have taken the HD home video route already? What's your experience like so far?
