Muscicapa the silent killer
Posted on Jul 4, 07 08:40 PM PDT

And by silent killer, I don't mean farting. The Muscicapa is actually an insect catcher in disguise, being more than meets the eye (I've just watched Transformers, so forgive me for the references). This Tomoko Azumi-designed Muscicapa looks like your standard household lamp, but it emits a green light that is invisible to most humans but acts like a beacon to insects. Curiousity might have killed the cat, but it does the same for insects as well as they enter the glowy casm and end up in a sticky trap. At the very least the Muscicapa blends into your home's surroundings unlike traditional bug catchers. Not only that, it doesn't use electricity or poison, making it a more environmentally positive choice.
