RCA Opal will not win beauty contest
The RCA Opal might be able to come with the best MP3 player functions in the world, but most people will still give this a pass due to its design. Unfortunately, it doesn't offer sterling functions that helps us close both eyes when using the Opal, so this is a perfect example where great design comes into play despite coming up short in the features department. Specifications include a 1.5" color OLED display and a pocket friendly $70 price tag. There are much better looking MP3 players in the market at that price, so get this only if you're a real RCA diehard.

I purchased an 8 GB Opal yesterday and after plugging it into the USB port for charging (24 hrs later) it still only registers 3/4 full on the battery monitor? I don't think this is normal so I will probably return it.

I have the 8gb RCA Opal, I am amazed that it is 8gb and only costed 70$ It plays video's music shows pictures, the only negatives is it scratches extremely easy, and it doesn't have the best battery time if you want to watch a 30 min clip or something it drains very fast. Other than that it is great..

I got myself an Opal a little over weeks ago and so far I have only 1 complaint. The control button sits at an odd angle to the body of the player (perhaps to avoid problems with Apple). Until I got used to this I was always adjusting the volume when I was trying to skip a song. Other than that, with a 2 gig memory (all that I need) I have been quite happy with it. Add to that having the recharable battery (which my previous mp3 player did not) that charges from your USB without using a seperate cord. Sure you may find a "sexier" looking model in the same price range, but, I found that you lose some of the other features on those that you gain with the Opal. All the models I have found are in blue other colors would be a plus.
