Sophia Mobile to challenge iPhone
Posted on Jul 17, 07 08:29 PM PDT

Looks like the iPhone has a new challenger, and this time it is Sophia Mobile from Japan and its Nani. Check out the specifications on this bad boy - it comes with a generous 4.3" touchscreen display, supports video playback at 800 x 400 pixels, has a microSD memory card slot, WiFi connectivity, a digital camera, and a TV tuner. No word on when this will be released nor its price, but since it is a homegrown product, chances are it will sell tons at home as well as abroad. The thought of the screen alone makes me drool, and if I didn't know any better, I would've thought that this was a portable media player of some sort. Hopefully they pack in some Bluetooth into the mix.

I can't find the dimensions. It looks pretty ugly and looks like it is bigger than the iPhone all around including thicker. This is the iPhone killer. Sad.

in one word... NO.
Just like with the iPod.. it's not about the features, but about the users interface, functionality (multiple touch, only iPhone has it) and the seamless integration with your PC.. through iTunes.
