Yamanote Train Alarm Clock

Jul 22, 07 07:43 PM PDT

Yamanote Train Alarm Clock
Since bullet trains are the main mode of transport in Tokyo as well as other parts of Japan, it makes perfect sense to have the train schedule close at hand in order to better plan out your day. The Yamanote Train Alarm Clock not only helps you wake up on time, it comes a backgroundthat features the current train schedule as indicated by the clock's moving arms. Don't worry about the background being outdated as it will get regular updates via radio time signal. Currently, the clock's face features corresponding lines on Tokyo's Yamanote train line. The love affair with trains do not end there, as the alarm sounds are actually real melodies played through the entire Yamanote train line. Neat - when will we see one of these Stateside that feature the subway schedule? ( Add a comment)

The Yamanote Line is not a bullet train and it is not a subway either. It is an above ground train that runs in a circle around many of the major districts in Tokyo. There are several categories of "bullet trains", but none of them are used for local travel, only travel between different cities.
