All it takes is one smart idea

That’s the title of (our sponsor) Geek Squad’s “ideafest” website, on which anyone can submit ideas about what could be done to make our world more sustainable. As it says on ideafest.geeksquad.com, “Those with the best ideas get the chance to collaborate with some of the world's greatest thinkers at the 2007 IdeaFestival, September 13–15, Louisville, KY.”

Here’s ours: We should fund research to find more (really) recyclable materials for electronic components. Currently, the incineration of E-waste releases heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and mercury into the air and ashes. The hazardous chemicals in W-waste from electronic devices can also harm workers in the recycling yards, as well as their neighboring communities and environment.
