In -car pollution indicator to come?

An in-car pollution indicator could soon be available in all vehicles if work by researchers from the University of Manchester is anything to go by. The team has developed a near-infrared diode laser sensor that is sensitive enough to record levels of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and methane directly from your vehicle's exhaust. This enables you to know when pollution levels from your vehicle is too high, as well as include dashboard warnings that let you modify your driving style. Sounds like a pretty good invention that helps prevent those with a heavy right foot to go easy on the accelerator more often instead of just burning up more fuel unneccessarily. ( Add a comment)
