Spyke set to hit the market
Looks like the long wait is finally over - the Spyke robot that we first saw at CES 2007 will hit the market in September. Let's have a recap at the Spyke's capabilities - it can be controlled through a WiFi connection, which means you can be halfway across the globe and yet order him around thanks to the Internet. Spyke doubles up as a VoIP phone that supports video calls and also acts as a sentry camera, sending an alarm or picture via email the moment it detects a movement. You will have to assemble Spyke yourself, and this is a chance to let your creativity shine since he can be assembled in a different variety of looks. Hopefully the nagging problems it had in returning to it's docking station has been resolved. Still, at £199 a pop, it is a rather affordable toy and could be a potential stocking stuffer.
