Word has it that Intel will be including its Penryn-based quad-core Xeon family of microprocessors in Mac Pro desktops that will be released in the near future. Each of these new processors come with a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 80 watts and boasts 12MB of Level 2 cache, running on a 1,333Mhz front-side bus. Pricing details are already available, with the 2.0GHz, 2.83GHz, and 3.16GHz processors retailing for $209, $690, and $1,172 respectively. Well, if you want to pick up one of these upcoming Mac Pro desktops, there is no reason not to start saving from today onwards.
