Gateway wows with ExtremeHD 1600
Posted on Sep 27, 07 10:02 AM PDT

Gateway might have been bought over by Acer, but there is still some spark of creativity left within them. Take the 30" ExtremeHD 1600 monitor that was launched at the Gateway One press event today - this display could potentially be the only screen you'll ever need, for the next three to four years anyway. It's size makes it suitable for watching movies as well as playing games, while folks looking for a large desktop space to work with won't be disappointed. Features include HQV Realta technology, a resolution of 2560 x 1600, half a dozen video inputs that can be used simultaneously: VGA, HDMI, DVI, component video, composite video and S-Video, six USB 2.0 ports, as well as Picture-in-Picture in High Definition. The Gateway ExtremeHD 1600 will be released this October 7, retailing for $1,700.
