ioDrive: the new storage architecture, “1000 hard drives in the palm of your hand”
Sep 26, 07 02:56 AM PDT

[DEMOFall] I published earlier today about the ioDrive, the new storage architecture solution from Fusion-io launched at DEMO. I met with Matthew Fleming, from Fusion-io, and I got my hands on the NAND flash PCI express card they are developing (photo).
According to him, this revolutionary storage solution improves both memory capacity and storage performance by a thousand fold: a single ioDrive offers 100,000 Sepc-1 IOPS from within any server. See the comparison chart provided by Fusion-io. This could be the next big thing in the storage industry… at least it will save a lot of power.
