LaCie has just unveiled the 5TB Biggest S2S 5-disk RAID system which boasts the potential of achieving maximum burst transfer rates of 200MB/s as well as stream non-compressed HD video in both 1080i and 1080p formats. You can hook up to a quartet of S2S units together via the eSATA PCI-X/Express Card to achieve a whopping 20TB of space at an impressive burst transfer speed of 600MB/s. Supported RAID levels include 0, 1, 0+1, and JBOD. The unit itself is hot-pluggable, while all five disks are hot-swappable. You can pick up the LaCie Biggest S2S 5TB for approximately $3,699 with the PCI-X Card and $3,799 without.
