Shopping cart marries bike
Sep 13, 07 02:41 AM PDT

I guess when you have a little extra time on your hands and some decent amount of DIY knowledge, this shopping cart-bike combo is one of the many zany inventions you can come up with. The front portion of the bicycle is removed, including the wheel, and replaced with a shopping cart - essentially turning this into a 5-wheeler. The main thrust of this idea would be to ride one to the local grocery store, detach it for your shopping needs, and reattach it to ride home once you're done. Great for places that receive sunshine all year round, but wet countries ought to come with a built-in umbrella. Pretty neat! I wonder how the bearings on those shopping cart wheels will hold up though after a few trips back and forth.
