Sun to power refrigerators

Looks like the Solar Turbine Group will attempt to bring the power of refrigeration to developing nations using a virtually inexhaustible power supply - the sun. This team has developed a solar thermal generator that can be purchased for $12,000 tops, generating 600 watts of electricity or 20 kilowatts of energy for heating and cooling. Alternatively, it can produce both simultaneously although the total output will be less for each. Mirrors make up a big component of this solar thermal system while old car parts have been recycled to make up the rest of the system, hence driving down costs even further. Talk about going green on a few fronts!
