Ultra-realistic robot double
Posted on Sep 16, 07 09:00 PM PDT

We all know how good China is when it comes to cloning stuff, but at the WIRED NextFest exhibition at LA last Thursday many people were stumped when they laid their eyes on an ultra-realistic robot from China. Modeled after Zou Renti (founder of the Xi'an Superman Sculpture Research Council), this robot definitely attracted its fair share of spectators. The mechanical Zou is capable of speech as well as facial movement, but what set this apart from other cold and calculating robots is its silica gel skin that is so lifelike, many expo attendees were stumped when it comes to telling the difference.
Publisher's note: as a hint, the real one screams when punched in the nose :)
