Acer has started to sell its new P243W widescreen LCD monitor for approximately $457, making 24" LCD displays all the more affordable. Unfortunately, the Taiwanese launch will see limited availability with only a thousand of these up for sale. Features include DVI-D, D-sub and HDMI connections, a native resolution of 1920×1200, a brightness of 400 nits, and a dynamic contrast of 3,000:1. In addition to the P243W, Acer plans to release a couple of 19" LCD monitors (P191W and P193W) that boast a dynamic contrast of 2,000:1, a 20" LCD monitor (P201W), and two 22" LCD monitors (P221W and P223W). Those shopping for LCD monitors these days are definitely spoilt for choice as the difference between one and the other is but a fine line.
