Boeing 747 in the bedroom
Oct 19, 07 07:56 AM PDT
You know what they say - if Jack can't go to the mountain, why not bring the mountain to Jack? That's exactly what plane fanatic John Davis did, building a jumbo jet cockpit so that he'll be able to "fly" around the world. His spare bedroom has been transfored into a jumbo jet cockpit, boasting a giant screen with a bird's eye view of continents courtesy of £15,000 worth of electronics that recreate every switch and sound on a Boeing 747. Not only is this flight simulator his passion, it is also a method for him to make money as he charges £65 for an hour and £95 for two. A four-hour session will cost £220 that includes a couple of those for training as well as a simulated flight from Birmingham to Amsterdam.
