Dell SP2208WFP out in Japan
Posted on Oct 11, 07 05:41 AM PDT

Strange to see Dell release the SP2208WFP in Japan before it ever makes its way to the US. This 22" LCD monitor features a resolution count of 1,680 x 1,050 and is equipped with a 2 megapixel webcam and an integrated microphone, a 2ms response time, a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, and is more than capable of reproducing 92% of the NTSC color gamut. Fret not when it comes to inputs as Dell has included an analog D-Sub 15, DVI-D (with HDCP), a trio of HDMI, and a quartet of USB ports. It will retail for approximately $510 in Japan, while a 24" version is in the works with an October 23 release date and a price point of approximately $587.

i live in japan and visited the dell main shop center in akihabara tokyo
my understanding is the sp2208wfp is a kind of test in asia
i wouldnt purchase this new tn monitor
the high contrast ratio turns out to be a pain for the eyes
fonts dont look good
at fisrt the surface of the screen resembling a glass looks nice while reflects a lot any ambient light
for movies maybe ok
definitely not ok for most of other applications
