G4 PowerBook bursts into flames

A G4 PowerBook pulled off a Human Torch stunt, but thankfully no one was seriously injured in the incident. Jimm Lasser was rudely awakened by a loud hissing noise caused by the battery, which subsequently burst into flames requiring him to call the fire brigade. After putting out the fire, Jimm called up Apple's customer service department to make a complaint, and to make a long story short - Apple sent Jimm a brand new MacBook Pro. According to Jimm, "The funny thing is, a Mac almost killed me, and I came out of the whole experience feeling more strongly about Apple as a company." I wonder why Sony did not do that during their battery recall.

This is just jaw-dropping. Holy Moses!
You might try posting on www.measuredup.com about Apple's response - it's a consumer website where people share their experiences with customer service departments. This might influence a lot of people, which could be a good thing.
