Google to double GMail capacity
Posted on Oct 15, 07 09:46 AM PDT

Google used to be the king of the hill where email storage is concerned, but apparently it has been relegated to third place, falling behind Yahoo! and Hotmail. The company that vows to do no evil is not about to take things lightly though, with plans to introduce incremental increases in the near future. It will bring all accounts up to 4321MB from October 23 onwards, and by January 4th next year, all GMail users will have 6GB of storage space online. Google Apps mail accounts will also see the 2GB storage cap removed and aligned with standard GMail accounts. If you're a GMail user, just how much space do you have left?

Well, that's definitely good news for me, although I've been considering switching with their whole MoveOn.org double standard.
