IE7 leaked by Microsoft Japan
Posted on Oct 5, 07 08:46 AM PDT

Our friends from gearfuse have alerted us that Microsoft has apparently posted Internet Explorer unintentionally on their website. Users have been able to download and install the application earlier today although the release is scheduled to be in 2008. As soon as Microsoft noticed, they’ve taken the download down and issued an apology.

MT, according to my contact at Gearfuse, although IE 7 has been around for a while, it is still considered to be an "evaluation" version by Microsoft and does not appear in the official list of downloads (see link Get it now). I've also included the link of the Japanese page if you want to take a look. So the story would be: the next JP version of IE was not supposed to be out before 08.
