LG launches Voyager
Oct 3, 07 09:51 AM PDT

The LG Voyager has just been launched and LG hopes that this could be a worthy rival of fthe iPhone. Also known as the VX10000, this touchscreen handset will feature a more iPhone-like interface just like that found in the PRada phone, where the screen will be able to let users make calls, play music and take 2 megapixel photos. Not only that, you also get a QWERTY keyboard which is revealed the moment you flip it open as well as a secondary display for email, text messaging, and games. Other features include a microSDHC memory card slot, 3G connectivity, and support for V CAST TV for live digital TV. If you're interested in the Voyager, better start saving up today as it ought to arrive on US shores just before Thanksgiving. Pricing details have yet to be divulged.
Update: Take a look at our "hands-on" with the LG Voyager. We can already say that the phone is NOT an iPhone killer

Your an asshole, Luna. Degrading people online makes you look more retarded than they do. The End.

When you plug in a headset, it works for phone calls, but is dead for video and speakers still blare. Anyone know why?

Thank you Bas, Anthony, Jasmine, and Alvin for proving that stupidity knows no bounds.
Bas wins the award for computer illiteracy. Before you go posting learn what you are talking about first.
Anthony.. I don't know where to begin, you're just retarded.
Jasmine and Alvin, apparently you lack a basic concept of the English language. Trying to look "cool" doesn't work by purposely misspelling words to their appropriated phonetic spellings, it just makes you look like an illiterate moron. If you don't have something constructive to post, or lack the ability to give a coherent and legible post, then don't do it. Spare the world from your nonsensical yammer.
First off the phone uses a proprietary OS. I don't know the limits of its java app functionality but it wont accept windows or mac based portable apps.
It supports multiple IM clients (MSN, Yahoo, AIM).
Only available for Verizon customers.
Cannot sync with Outlook, it has no POP3 compatibility. Just webmail.
Unfortunately Anonymous, your very narrow minded concept of "better" fails. Just because it has a keyboard doesn't mean it's superior. For some people that keyboard will be the greatest thing in the world, a lot of people won't really care. If you wanna get into technical details for better, one could argue the iPhone is superior because it will have a much larger application base and suport (and even larger if they ever decide to allow 3rd party apps). Its all in what you need. Learn to think on a larger scale.
While Bob attempted a more reasonable argument for superiority you are still not looking at all opportunities for all devices. There will be a huge base of customers who will never even use vcast on the phone. Just because you can watch tv on that tiny screen doesn't mean people would want to sacrifice their eyes to do so.
The iPhone is on par with this handheld. While some features of this will make it better for YOU that doesn't mean better for EVERYONE. I personally like the keyboard on this for dealing with web based email, but the application support of the iPhone is something that I wish this had. I'm locked with Verizon for now, so the iPhone isn't a viable option, otherwise I'd go with that just from a software standpoint.
If you are locked into a Verizon contract, then obviously this is your choice device. If you are looking for a new setup all together, research both. And pick the device that suits your needs.

By jessy , 11/12/07 8:09 PM (CommentID #391350)
i also want no if i can get an upgrade even if my 2 year contract with my fone isnt over
By TJA , 10/12/07 6:35 PM (CommentID #390303)
I noted that this phone only accomodates up to 1,000 names in your "contacts." Is this true? I have 2,000 contacts in my Palm Treo and wanted to switch to this phone. However, I can't afford to just ditch 1,000 of my 2,000 business contacts. What gives? Does this phone support the Verizon "Wireless Synch" feature?

bas, you are a moron. Terry asked what OS it runs, get your head out of your flowery smelling Mac loving ass and realize more Operating Systems (thus the OS) exist than mac....

Aim, YM, MSMmsgr, Hotmail, Gmail, yahoo mail, Aol mail, Verizon mail.. everything!! Vcast TV rocks, I got the Espn too! LOL this is the shet!! Next shipment everywhere in cali will be on the 15th of DEC!!

My contract just ended and I used my "New Every Two" upgrade which was $100 off. Additionally I bought the phone online and received an extra $50 online rebate. Since I didn't have to pay an activation fee I just payed for the phone which was $349.99. The total came to $199 + a new 2 year contract.
By Kara , 27/11/07 6:06 PM (CommentID #377936)
hii. does anyone know if your contract is ending and you are going to use your up-grade, how much would it be?

Can you go on google on the internet browser
By Bob Funkington , 15/11/07 9:57 PM (CommentID #365015)
This is easily going to kill the iphone. If you have vcast you get music, and TV. internet and tv on a phone, plus a QWERTY keyboard so you can actual type a message in a fairly short amount of time. Hands down better than the iphone.
By carlos , 15/11/07 9:48 AM (CommentID #364127)
can you trade in an env and give more money for this?
By Steven , 15/11/07 9:34 AM (CommentID #364121)
The price is actually $299 with a new two year contact agreement through verizon...
By Anonymous , 14/11/07 9:46 AM (CommentID #362310)
This phone is better than the iphone because it has a keyboard
