Microsoft launches the new Zune
Oct 2, 07 11:53 PM PDT

The new Zune players have finally been announced by Microsoft. In a nutshell, users can now buy DRM-free songs from the Zune Store (DRM stands for Digital Rights Management, an anti piracy measure). Without DRM, the songs are compatible with any music player.
There’s also the option of “renting music” (my personal favorite) by buying an “unlimited pass” that lets you download as many songs as you want. I take it that these ones are DRM-protected.
The Wireless sync over WiFi seems like an interesting option, particularly since the new Zune can also sync your TV Shows from Windows Media Center… nice move. It is really as good as it sounds?
