Mobile data card does security too

Sprint Nextel and Alcatel-Lucent have teamed up with plans to release a mobile data card that is capable of acting as a notebook security mechanism as well. The SprintSecure Laptop Guardian comes with its own power supply, and will render any laptop useless when removed. This is made possible courtesy of an internal processor, memory, proprietary operating system and an SD memory card slot that enforces policies that limit information which can be downloaded by users no matter the route taken to hook up to the Internet. Not only that, this card comes with GPS functionality that enables an IT administrator to locate it as well as the laptop in the process. Sounds like a great invention as you can never be too safe these days.
