Sprint Rumor Phone Details

After a short teaser, Sprint has released the details of the Sprint Rumor messaging phone. Designed by LG, this phone aims to be an affordable texting phone. It will be available for $80 (with a 2yr service contract and after rebate) and unlimited SMS plans start at $10 for individuals and $20 for families, which can be pretty good if there are a couple of teenagers in the house. The full QWERTY keyboard ensures that typing can be done comfortably and we agree: that’s an essential feature for any text device. The “Rumor” phone is also loaded with a GPS navigation software, although it wasn’t clear if it uses assisted-GPS or a real GPS receiver.

the camera sucks unless its good light the vibrate is like a ring tone. sometimes it shuts off on its own but its only happened to me like twice. the full keyboard is nice. there is an automatic lock after a couple seconds but you can take that off.

I got a green rumor about 1 week ago. Here are some of the pit falls of this phone.
1. It locks after a very short period of time and you cannot control it.
2. while you are talking a beep goes off every minute. This is very annoying and I do not know why it happens. It is not the call waiting feature because there is no one calling in AND it is not because it is not charged because I charge my phone every night. The other person can also hear the beep, so they probably think that another call is coming in or that I am recording the conversation. Both are embarrassing.
I don't think I would have gotten this phone is I knew some of the quircks...

I HATE IT. MY PHONE SHUTS OFF ON IT OWN. IT REALLY DOESNT VIBRATE AND THE RINGER IS NOT THAT LOUD. I CAN NOT FEEL IT VIBRATE IN MY POCKET. IT HOLD ONLY 10 SONGS WITH 1GB MICRO SD CARD. I'M REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RUMOR.

I am about to get this phone and really from a the Mogul by HTC it is a down grade but I can't stand the mogul the rumor was my first choice and so I am switching them. But with all these mixed reviews, I am not going to get rid of my Mogul just yet I'll hold on to it and see what happens. =]

okay when i first got my phone i was like yeah. suhweet. but the programs on it are not as good as the ones altell as on there phone exaclty like sprint. i also dont like that when your deleting you cant delete multiple and the whole stupid blue tooth only being with pc. i would advice people to look around before settling with this phone.

hey, i have the sprint rumor, and i can honestly say that the only really bad thing about this phone is the fact that you can't buy a cover that you can keep on, so its very easy to scratch it. the camera takes good pics, it records good, and with a memory card, holds good amount of memory.

Well let me start of by saying this phone is the best!!!!!
Everyone at my school says that it is better than their phone.
I only found 2 problems and it was the camera and I cant seem to find the voice kit.
The camera doesnt really have good quality except if u r in good light. (i noe this bc my mom has the Centro and it has very good quality in its camera)
And somehow i cant find the voice kit well if u can just say it on here.

You can also put music on your Sprint Rumor without buying the USB cord. You simply put the memory card into your computer/printer, or whatever holds your card. Go to My Computer. Double Click on 'Removable Disk (F:)'. Then click on the 'Music' Folder. And drag and drop your music from iTunes, or anyother music sorce.

It's true about the "RE-CALL". Both of my children got one for Christmas and they both have locked up and lost everything on them.
Sprint has replaced the phones with new ones until they come back, which they said could take up to two months.
So, for you who are thinking about getting this phone.....It's a GREAT phone but, it has it's quirks right now so just make sure when you get one they've been worked out.

For everyone who has this phone just for FYI sprint is recalling the phone because they have found out that the phone does automatic hard resets on its own and you will lose everything so make sure you do a back up of all contacts and music and messages. the way you will know is it will start shutting off by itself then it will not power up and then you will turn it on and everything is gone..

I got my phone on dec 6th and knew nothing about it i just knew it was cute.....By the way you dont need a USB corD to put music on it. You can put the memory card directly into you computer if you computer has the slot for it.

for the guy that is having trouble putting mp3's on it... all you have to do is get a usb... (I got mine from Best Buy) it was $15 on sale.. then buy the memory card as well which was $15 I think.. put the memory card in the slots of the usb and plug the usb into your computer.. then go to my computer and find the usb drive and click it.. then find your music and drag the song/picture files into your drive. very simple.

hey this phone is a great phone.if you have any second thouts about it, dont.i had the razor until i just got this phone, it was slow and useless.but this phone has fast service and great lcd type of screen.it is great for teenagers, as i am one and two of my friends have it as well. not only is it worth the money, but it would make you and/or your kid happy.
awesome phone, and by the way, once you have this phone, everyone looks at you and asks you"omg is that a new sidekick" or "that phone is so awesome"...just to let you know :-)

this phone rock my socks!! it has ruled my life since chaunakka harry was nice enough to give it to me! that remind me i need to feel my salamander. his nam is melvin. my name is roger.... carl for shor. i have skittles if any ones wants them. the tropical kind, they didnt have the berry and cream at the market so i just made due. this guy got the last pack like 2 people infront of me, the big jerk. anyway this phone is a halo lord.

I think it will charge you according to your plan. I have unlimited txting and internet, the charges that would apply would be if that wasn't included in your plan. I'm assuming. If not, my bill is going to be sky hiigh!

I have this phone. It's awesome. It's pictures are okay, but I certainly have fun with the negative colored ones. The texting is great, and so is the internet service. I haven't tried out the MP3, though.

i work at sprint and we just got the rumors in. yes you do have to insert a memory card. however, the phone itself does not come with a memory card. but you can buy one at any electronic store and some sprint stores actually carry them.

your a noob whoever asked about the mp3 player. you have to buy a jump kit. it comes with an sd card, a usb cable, and some ear buds. and most phones are like that.

The mp 3 player is very confusing and difficult to use - it doesn't come with a usb cable, ear buds and you need to purchase a micro sd adapter -I still can't get the mp3 player to work - can't find where to get the usb cable and it looks like it is going to cost me another $150.00 to get that part of the phone to work. I wouldn't recommend the phone.
