W-100 watch phone

W-100 watch phone Looks like we have yet another watch phone in the form of the W-100 from Hyundai. While it is a whole lot smaller compared to standard cellphones, the W-100 certainly doesn't lack in features (although you'll probably miss a decent sized screen sorely if you're a seasoned cellphone user). This GSM handset, if you can call it that, comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera that captures video as well, an MP3 and video player, a touchscreen interface (happy squinting!), Bluetooth connectivity, and a microSD memory card slot. Best of all is, you get support for the English language other than the customary Chinese language that comes as default.

Seriously dude, you have been ripped off, mine is perfect in any way. it can be used with or without bluetoot or wired headset and the OS is fun and hello kitty- / manga-ish. Only two things that sucks is that there is nowhere to get new games/layouts etc. and that sms tones are only preset.

I forgot to say that it works as a web cam when it is connected with a p/c. or as a storage.
That it has vibration.
Memory slot (2 gb micro sd works fine).
In general is a perfect phone.

I dont think that you are very accurate on your post except if you have the copy w100.I own a hyundai w100 and the reception is very good.As for bluetooth i use the included one and works perfect plus give you the capability to change songs from the bluetooth.
The screen is very detailed and the playback is good 177x146 3gp or mp4.
The keyboard is not bad for the size of the screen.
And you can use it without the bluetooth just by enable the loudspeaker.
The mms works fine and the built in explorer is not bad.
The camera quality is 1280x1024 but it has no flash.
The radio works fine too but to use it you have to connect the cable handsfree.
The only think that i dont like in this watch is that it is (fat) for a thin hand.
I use it every day 1,5 month and iam very happy with it.

I have used this phone for over 2 months.
As a phone the reception is not good at all when using Bluetooth. I have used Nokia BH801, Plantronics Explorer 340 and Motorola S9. Music via Motorola S9 is perfect. Creating a pay list for music files is not easy and if you get Chinese only manual then good luck as you will not be able to find an English manual on web. The camera does not produce satisfactory photos so it is useless. The styles is also useless as it is very very difficult to use the small screen to key in alpha numeric with this styles. Could have been better if the unit have been flatter and little wider (a wider screen could have given us a better on screen keyboard).
Positives- good battery (charge time and standby time), music quality is good, does not crash much like PPCs
Negatives- very poor reception, very poor styles and too tiny on screen key board, missing synchronisation option (thus phone book needs to be created fresh), No software (third party) possible, missing notepad option, missing acrobat, word excel support. Design could have been improved. Cannot use without the headset (wired or Bluetooth). Included Bluetooth may be fake or low quality.

Conclusion: too early in development stage. But definitely this is a futuristic product so If you can resist the temptation of having it now please wait for improved versions. Hope Microsoft would crate an O/S version and main phone manufacturers would come up with their own models. As of now some unknown Chinese companies manufacture these units.

Hi,
I have a few questions about the Hyundai W-100 :

1) Is it possible to call people in your phone book without using the touch screen / pin?(i.e. only using buttons/voice dialing)

2) Does it come with a bluetooth handsfree (with both mic and earphones) or just bluetooth earphones?

Thanks in advance!

I have my doubts about W100, can it be used for video call in real time just like using a webcam when "chatting"?
