Eyeglasses provide directional sensitivity

These eyeglasses can amplify the sound coming from the front, while filtering out noise from the back, thanks to its array of microphones. This is called “directional sensitivity” because it improves the sound coming from where the wearer looks at. This is not meant to be a spy device, but it could help the elderly to focus on a particular sound event or conversation. In you wonder, the batteries are located in the arms.

This prototype was made by Philips and the Delft University of Technology.
