iPhone has no voice-free plan for deaf
Posted on Nov 30, 07 08:36 AM PDT

AT&T has decided to do away with its $27.99 monthly no-voice plan, claiming that the offer was generated in error. While AT&T has a fair number of data-only plans for the deaf community, this service won't be extended to the iPhone plan. I suppose this has something to do with AT&T trying to make as much profit as possible, since they still need to pay Apple a certain amount of dough on each iPhone regardless of what plan the user picks up. How is the hearing impaired community taking this bit of news? Will they do something about the situation so that corporate bigwigs get the idea that it always pays to treat their customers right?

i think at&t should have deaf data plan for blackberry or other kind of phones so that would be fair to all deaf users...u could put the price on $27 monthly...it will make your company happy and deaf users happy

This is discrimination to me...if they have an issue with Apple then deaf users of Blackberry should be given same services and pricing as t-mobile users using sidekick....i made a terrible mistake when i switched over to at&t and I am now paying double and for services which i do not use...vm, call waiting, call hold, immediate call forward, msg notifiction etc...there are many deaf blackberry users that are upset at AT&T for misguiding us into believing that they can match tmobile sidekick plan.
