Verizon Wireless and Kyocera have just launched the Kyocera KPC680 ExpressCard with CDMA2000 1x Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Rev A technology. This is the next logical evolution of the KPC650 1x EV-DO Rev 0 PC Card which was launched a couple of years earlier, with the KPC680 ExpressCard delivering increased productivity and maximized performance. It has been specially optimized for Verizon Wireless's Rev A network and operates with the company's BroadbandAccess service. On paper, the average download speed is rated between 600kbps to 1.4Mb with average upload speeds of 500 to 800kbps, but that remains to be seen. Snazzy points about the KPC680 include its antenna design that moves the antenna away from the device as it is opened for greater sensitivity, dual external antenna ports for signal flexibility, and a compact form factor.
