Linksys has new Media Center Extenders

Linksys have joined forces with Microsoft to bring a third generation of Media Center Extenders to the masses - the DMA 2100 and DMA 2200. Both boast Ethernet and Dual-Band Wireless-N for hassle-free media streaming from a Home Theatre PC (in both standard definition and HD content up to 1080p), a wide range of connectivity options (Component and HDCP enabled HDMI), as well as standard benefits of Media Center like direct access to all media stored on a computer and NAS appliances. Codec support is much better this time round, with XviD thrown into the fray unlike previous versions that supported only formats native to Windows. The DMA 2200 beats out on the DMA 2100 with a 720p/1080i upscaling DVD player. The Linksys DMA 2100 and DMA 2200 will retail for £199 and £229 respectively when released this month.
