M2E Power to harness kinetic energy
Published on 11/16/2007

M2E Power aims to commercialize its battery technology that harnesses kinetic energy, turning motion into electrical power. The first target would be to develop a D-size battery for the military, followed by those meant for consumer use later. Currently, soldiers in the field rely a whole lot on D and AA-size batteries to power their gear, and these batteries add unwanted weight (up to 30 pounds) to their entire backpack while discarded batteries leave traces of movements. M2E Power hopes to apply the Faraday Principle in its development, and want to achieve lighter batteries that are able to last twice as long due to a less taxing charging algorithm.
